Mid-December 2015: There were no trains in Regency England but I have to get to York and prefer it not to take days to get there. 

We’re staying at Middlethorpe Hall.

This was home to Lady Mary Wortley Montagu. I've since come across her name many times. I'm sorry I never had a chance to meet her and I'm sure she would have found me very boring.

Holiday Plans

I TURNED THE BOOK IN!!!

December 2015: The Hubby and I fly to London to spend the holidays with daughter. We’ll stay in London for a few days before heading north.

Late September 2015:   I’ll be recovering for at least a month. 

Oh, the jet lag!

September 2015:

The plan was to take the train to the farthest town from us, Riomaggiore, and return by boat so we could see all of them from the water. It was too windy that day and the boats had closed because of rough sea.

Instead, we visited three of the five by train. Next time we’ll have to stop by Manarola and Corniglia.

Back to this Summer …

Late July 2015:    I flew to New York City from London to attend this year’s Romance Writers of America Conference. I attended the Literary Signing, met a bunch of very cool Montlake authors, and got to visit with my sister-writers.

London

Early July 2015: I’m going to live in London for the next two months. It’s an experience I never thought I’d have. I’m here to visit with my daughter and lend support while she interns for the summer. I’ll be cooking her dinner and washing her clothes while she works her long hours.

I will also allocate time for sightseeing and researching future books. I will also be finishing up the final book for my Gentlemen of Worth series, Freddie’s story.

A Busy Summer

April 2015: Not only will I be attending the RWA conference in New York City this July, I’ll be flying in from London where I will be spending the summer with my daughter.

I know I will have a difficult time staying focused on writing Freddie’s book when London is beyond my front door, inviting me to play!

I have promised myself that I would make time for both. I will choose a few walking tours from London Walks and perhaps some day trips as well.

Still in London . . .

September 2014: Not that I’m complaining but it’s been a LONG time. This time around we visit Greenwich,

Too Much of a Good Thing

October 2013:  Before I return to writing Penny’s book, I need to make plans to revisit London for Christmas. 

I'm really feeling more like a travel agent than an author.

Ready or Not

August 2013:  Physical Therapy continues and we make preparations for the trip to London. The school is not happy with the surgery, in truth, neither were we, and they’re asking for a doctor’s release.

We leave at the end of the month. 

Longest Month of My Life

End of June 2013: 

Surgery and 3 whole days/24 hours a day of this . . . it didn't look this good

July 2013: Physical Therapy for the knee begins. Hubby stays home to watch over the girl and I fly to Atlanta for the RWA National Conference.

While I’m away I get a picture of my daughter’s first steps! I feel so relieved that she’s making progress.

Good News, Bad News, and Worser News

June 2013:  My son graduates college. The night before we leave my daughter has a freak knee accident that sends her to the ER.

My daughter and I miss the graduation ceremony; hubby attends alone. 

My daughter ends up missing her Grand Tour instead she has knee surgery followed by three months of Physical Therapy.
