Back Home and Last Post

January 2016: I return home and wait for revisions on the final book for Gentlemen of Worth.

It isn’t until the end of February that the revisions arrive. I turn them in before the end of the month.

April 2016: The cover and final edits arrive! In a few days after this post on September 6^th, A Rake Reformed will be available on Amazon.com.

That brings The Gentlemen of Worth series, and this Blog to an end.

This blog wasn’t really what I had envisioned five years ago when it started. I wanted to jot down ideas and sort out fictional situations before I set them in a novel. It didn’t turn out that way. I much preferred to spend my time writing instead of blogging about it.

What’s Next? I have already started another Regency tale. I don’t know if it’s one big book or a series of 2 or 3. As I write that I am plotting a series of Regency Mysteries. That should take a decade or two to finish.

An Added Challenge

Cowboy Romance writer Carolyn Brown has asked me to write a short story for her new Blame it on Texas Kindle World.

I’ve managed to write winter in England when in Maui.

I’m sure I can manage a Texas summer while in Scotland.

Holiday Plans

I TURNED THE BOOK IN!!!

December 2015: The Hubby and I fly to London to spend the holidays with daughter. We’ll stay in London for a few days before heading north.

Off to Maui

November 2015: I might as well be sitting in a box working. I rarely stepped outside. I did not make it to the pool or ocean.

Just never mind… back to work.

 

It’s all about winter in England… I must have a fantastic imagination because I’m sitting in the warm and humidity of Hawaii.

Back to Normal Life

October 2015: Now that I’m back and the clouds have cleared in my head I realize the current book I’m working on that is due in January has to be turned in while I’m away in the UK. 

Hmm . . .  

Then I realize I need to send it before I leave in December. That means it has be finished and ready to go a month early. A month.

Hmm…

Now I realize I really need to push though the story.  

London

Early July 2015: I’m going to live in London for the next two months. It’s an experience I never thought I’d have. I’m here to visit with my daughter and lend support while she interns for the summer. I’ll be cooking her dinner and washing her clothes while she works her long hours.

I will also allocate time for sightseeing and researching future books. I will also be finishing up the final book for my Gentlemen of Worth series, Freddie’s story.

A Busy Summer

April 2015: Not only will I be attending the RWA conference in New York City this July, I’ll be flying in from London where I will be spending the summer with my daughter.

I know I will have a difficult time staying focused on writing Freddie’s book when London is beyond my front door, inviting me to play!

I have promised myself that I would make time for both. I will choose a few walking tours from London Walks and perhaps some day trips as well.

Enough Already!

Too Much of a Good Thing

October 2013:  Before I return to writing Penny’s book, I need to make plans to revisit London for Christmas. 

I'm really feeling more like a travel agent than an author.

The Move Home

May 2013: My writing has come to a halt. Period.

Working with a New Publisher

Early March 2013: I started out this month going over what the marketing department did to my 12 page Author Questionnaire. They condensed it into 3 paragraphs. I make my suggestions and send it back.

End of February 2013: Back to Penny’s book. If I can find it in the pile of papers on my desk.

Back on Track

February 2013:  I remember that I’m working on Penny’s book. I find, and dust off, the binder where I keep my story. 

I reemerge myself into her world and continue.

The Holiday Season

End of 2012/Beginning of 2013: Christmas… the New Year zips on by me. 

Family comes in from all areas and the activity leaves me breathless. 

When I’m finally alone I wonder what was it I used to do? Oh yeah... I'm a writer!

Vacation Time

November 2012: Back to Maui! I’m hoping to make progress on Book 4.

Why is it when I’m trying to write one book that a slew of other stories try to worm their way into my brain? I’m a good author and write them all down so they are not forgotten. 

I’m confident that when the time comes to move from the Gentlemen of Worth series I will have more than enough stories, characters, and plots to occupy my time.

Book 4 sent and Return to Book 5

Late July 2012: After the RWA National Conference in Anaheim, California I returned home and send my completed manuscript for Book 4 for publication. What happens next with Montlake Romance…

I’ll return to writing Book 5. That should keep me busy enough.

Looking Ahead to Book 5

Mid May 2012 – I begin planning a loose outline for Penny’s story. It is coming together very well.

Book 4 – Finished!

Early May 2012 – I’m very pleased with the way Book 4 has turned out. 

Now all I have to do is wait for the okay to submit it to my publisher.
